I got this recipe from a friend at church. She brought it to a potluck. It definitely changed the opinion of what meatloaf is at our home. It is yummy!!!

  • 1 lbs. ground beef
  • 1 small onion chopped fine
  • 1 egg
  • cup cracker crumbs or crushed corn flakes
  • 2 Tbsp. ketchup
  • 2 tsp. salt
  • tsp. black pepper
  • 1 tsp. sugar
Sauce:
  • 3 heaping Tbsp. brown sugar
  • cup ketchup
  • 1 tsp. dry mustard or 1 Tbsp. prepared mustar

Directions

-Meat Mixture:
2/3 cup milk
1 lbs. ground beef
1 small onion chopped fine
1 egg
1 cup cracker crumbs or crushed
corn flakes
2 Tbsp. ketchup
2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. black pepper
1 tsp. sugar

1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

3. Mix all meat mixture ingredients except the scalded milk in a large bowl.
4. Add the scalded milk to the meat mixture. Mix well.
5. Meat mixture may be cooked in a loaf pan or square baking dish.
-Sauce:
3 heaping Tbsp. brown sugar, cup ketchup, 1 tsp. dry mustard or 1 Tbsp. prepared mustard
6. Combine all sauce ingredients in a small bowl, and stir well until the sugar is dissolved. After the meat loaf has been cooking for 30 minutes, spoon some of the sauce over the top of the loaf. Continue to baste every 30 minutes.
7. Bake the meat loaf for 1 hours total.
