Meatloaf

Recipe Submitted by hs4hmom ..|.. Category: Beef & Veal

Sage is the secret ingredient that makes this taste so good. It's also a freezer friendly meal.

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 pounds ground beef (ground turkey would work as well)
  • 1 cup ketchup
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tsp salt (optional)
  • 2 eggs (or equivalent in egg substitute or egg whites)
  • 3/4 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup crushed cracker crumbs (or bread crumbs or oatmeal)
  • 1/2 cup onion (more or less to your taste)
  • 1/2 tsp sage
  • ground black pepper to taste (optional)

Directions

Preheat oven to 350 F
Beat the eggs, add milk, crackers, onion, salt, pepper, sale and mix well.
Add to meat. Form a loaf and place in appropriate baking dish.
Combine the remaining ingredients and pour half over the loaf.
Bake at 350 F for 1 hour.
Let stand for 10 minutes before slicing. Serve with remaining sauce.
