This bread goes nicely with chili or stews.


  • 1 1/2 c. biscuit mix
  • 2/3 c. milk
  • 1 egg, slightly beaten
  • 1 tsp. onion powder
  • 1 T. fresh parsley, finely chopped
  • 1 1/4 c. shredded cheddar cheese, divided
  • 1 T. butter or margarine, melted


Preheat oven to 400. Spray a 9 x 3 inch loaf pan with non-stick cooking spray. In large bowl combine biscuit mix, milk, egg, onion powder, parsley, and 3/4 cup of cheddar cheese. Mix well. Spread batter into loaf pan. Sprinkle remaining cheese on top of batter. Drizzle with the melted butter. Bake for 45 to 60 minutes or until wooden toothpick inserted in center of bread comes out clean. Serve warm.
