Pizza Dough with Beer

Recipe Submitted by Appliejuice ..|.. Category: Bread Machine

This makes a great pizza crust. I sometimes add Italian Seasoning to the flour before kneading. Can also be used to make calzones.

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups Flat Beer
  • 3 3/4 cups All-Purpose Flour (I use Kamut or Whole Wheat)
  • 3 TB Sugar (I use Sucanat)
  • 1 1/2 tsp Salt
  • 1 1/2 TB butter
  • 1 1/2 tsp Active Dry Yeast

Directions

Place ingredients in order in breadmachine pan. Set machine on dough cycle. Once dough is done, remove dough from pan.
Flour hands lightly. Divide dough in half. Press each half into a greased 12" pan pan, forming a 1" edge.
Brush crust lightly with olive oil. Cover and let stand 15 minutes.
Spoon pizza sauce over dough, top with cheese and favorite toppings.
Bake 25 to 30 minutes at 400 degrees.
For FREEZER: Bake shaped dough for 5 minutes in a preheated 400 degree oven. Let cool and freeze. Remove from freezer, top and bake as above.
