Layer 1/2 of potatoes, onion, and ham in
the crockpot. Melt butter and add flour to make a paste (over low-med
heat). Slowly add the milk while stirring. Add salt and pepper to taste.
Stir and cook until thick. Pour 1/2 of liquid over potatoes. Layer second
1/2 of potatoes, onion, and ham in crock. Pour rest of the liquid over
potatoes. Should about cover potatoes. Dot with butter. Cook on low for
I usually do this in the oven or microwave. Haven't done this recipe in the crockpot in a long time. Hopefully it is good. Some people add cheese on top just before serving.
