Chocolate Chip Cookies

I double this recipe and freeze the dough in round balls. Take out only what I need for that day and bake as usual. I do not thaw the dough before baking. It may take a few minutes more to bake.


  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar (I use sucanat)
  • 3/4 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1 cup softened butter
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 1 1/2 cup all-purpose flour (I use soft wheat or Kamut, freshly ground)
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 12 oz of chocolate chips


Heat oven to 375 degrees. Mix sugars, butter, eggs and vanilla. Stir in remaining ingredients. Drop dough by rounded spoonfuls on ungreased cookie sheet. Bake until light brown, 8 to 10 minutes. Cool slightly before removing from cookie sheet. Enjoy!
