Kool-Aid Cookies

Ingredients

  • 1 cup shortening
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 egg yolks
  • 3 1/4 cups flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 6 tablespoons milk
  • 1/2 package dry unsweetened Kool-Aid
  • (flavor/color desired)
  • 1/2 package dry unsweetened Kool-Aid
  • (contrasting flavor/color) Kool-Aid

Directions

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Cream shortening and sugar. Add egg yolks and beat well. Sift all dry ingredients together and add alternately with milk to the creamed mixture. This foundation can make 3 or more different cookies. After dough is mixed, divide in half. Roll out on wax paper, sprinkle with Kool-Aid (one color on half, and the other color on the other half). Put half the dough on top of the other half. Roll up in a roll and
refrigerate at least 2 hours or freeze and slice when needed.
Bake for 10 to 12 minutes.
