Microwave Brownies

Recipe Submitted by Donna ..|.. Category: Cookies

Brownies in a hurry! Depending on your microwaving skills, these can be very good!
I usually microwave the brownies in a 2 quart square corning ware dish. I don't use full power because my microwave is very old (27 years) and does not have a rotating disk. I cook mine at 80% power and rotate every minute or two. It is done when the top no longer looks shiny-wet.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2/3 cup butter (softened or melted)
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1/2 cup cocoa
  • 1 cup all purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • dash salt
  • 1 cup chopped nuts

Directions

Cream together sugar and butter. Add eggs and vanilla. Mix well. Combine cocoa, flour, baking powder, and salt. Blend dry ingredients into sugar mixture. Stir in nuts
Spread mixture in an 8 inch glass baking dish. Microwave at high 6 to 7 minutes. Cool. Cut into squares.
