Quick and Easy Sauted Tilapia Fillets

Ingredients

  • 2 thawed Tilapia fillets
  • 1 egg
  • Italian style breadcrumbs
  • Olive oil
  • Lemon slices or lemon juice
  • 2 Tbsp. butter
  • Splash of Tabasco sauce
  • 1 Tbsp. dry white wine (optional)

Directions

Beat egg in a pie plate. Put Italian style breadcrumbs in another pie plate. Dip thawed fish fillet in the egg, then in breadcrumbs coating both sides. Heat a thin layer of olive oil in a non-stick skillet to medium temperature. Place coated fillets in the skillet and saut for 3 to 5 minutes per side. Gently remove fillets from skillet and place on heated dish to keep warm.

In the same skillet, add 2 fresh lemon slices or lemon juice to the oil along with 2 Tbsp. of butter and a splash of Tabasco sauce, 1 Tbsp. of dry white whine and stir together. Next, place fillets back in skillet coating both sides of the fillets with the butter sauce. Remove and serve.
