Toms and my favorite lasagna

When we were first married, we bought a box of lasagna noodles. This recipe was on the box, and it has been our favorite out of all the recipes we have tried. Loved for over 10 years now lol.


  • 1 16 oz package lasagna
  • 1 lb. ground beef
  • 1 14 oz jar spaghetti sauce (with mushrooms)
  • 2 6 oz cans tomato paste
  • 1 cup water
  • 2 tsp. Italian seasoning
  • garlic (opt)
  • 24 oz cottage cheese, small curd
  • 1/4 cup parmesan cheese, divided
  • 2 T minced parsley
  • 8 oz shredded mozzarella cheese


Cook lasagna. (while lasagna is cooking) brown meat. add spaghetti sauce, tomato paste, water, Italian seasoning, and garlic if desired. Simmer 10-15 minutes. Drain any excess liquid from cottage cheese. Combine cottage cheese, parsley and 1/2 parmesan. Spread one cup sauce on bottom of pan (9x13). Arrange 4 pieces of lasagna lengthwise over sauce, overlapping edges. Spread 1/3 cottage cheese, 1 cup sauce, and 1/2 cup mozzarella cheese over pasta. Repeat layers twice. Top with layer of pasta and remaining sauce, mozzarella, and parmesan cheese.
Bake in 350 oven for 30 minutes. Let stand 5-10 minutes to set. Makes 12- 3' servings.
