Line pie pan with pastry. Cream the
butter with vanilla. Gradually add sugar, cocoa, salt, flour, and eggs,
creaming well. Beat in syrup and milk until well blended. Stir in pecans.
Pour filling into prepared pastry.
Bake at 450 degrees F for 10 minutes and then reduce heat to 325 degrees F and bake 40 to 45 minutes or until filling is set. This pie may be topped with whipped cream, if desired.
