This basic chocolate syrup has only three ingredients and it is good over ice cream and cakes. Additionally, the syrup can be added to hot milk to make hot cocoa. The whole recipe can be added to 4 cups of milk either hot or cold to make chocolate milk.
Chocolate Syrup: Mix cocoa and sugar in small saucepan, add water. Over medium heat bring to rolling boil. Boil 2 minutes. Pour into jar, refrigerate
Note: This can be made in the microwave, but, it will boil over, so if you cook this in the microwave, watch it closely.
Keep both the chocolate syrup in the lidded glass jar in the refrigerator. The syrup will keep a few weeks, but try to use it up within the month.
