This came out very good.


  • 4 c. fresh cranberries
  • 2 c. water
  • 2 c. sugar
  • 2 1/2 tsp. grated orange peel
  • 1/2 c. finely diced apple


Rinse cranberries and remove stems, set aside. Combine water and sugar in a sauce pan. Bring to a boil over medium heat. Boil for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally. Stir in cranberries. Boil over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until cranberries begin to pop open, about 5 to 7 minutes. Remove from heat. Stir in orange peel and diced apple. Pour cranberry sauce into a serving bowl. Refrigerate for at least 4 hours or over night if possible.
